Douglas Harty is a graduate of Center Grove High School in 1975, Indiana University 1979, and from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1983. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Indianapolis District Dental Society and The Cranial Academy. 

He has been on over 75 short-term mission trips, having served in Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico, Guatemala, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Kenya, Tanzania, India, Cambodia, and Cuba. 

His wife, Debbie, is a kindergarten teacher at Center Grove Elementary. They have two children and are members of Indian Creek Christian Church. Dr. Harty enjoys photography, cycling, kayaking, backpacking, hiking, and travelling.
